Tim Bendall - originally from Cwmavon, but now based at
RAF Benson in Oxfordshire, is serving as a Flying Officer in the RAF,
and brought his aircraft back to Dyffryn Comprehensive (his old school)
during June 2005
Tim,
an ex-cadet with 499 Port Talbot Squadron Air Training Corps was in the
area on a flying exercise, and prior to his scheduled flight, decided to
contact the commanding officer of 499 Squadron Flight Lieutenant Mike
Stones, to give the cadets an opportunity to fly in his aircraft.
This was a superb gesture on behalf of him and his crew, and we can only
thank them for an absolutely terrific experience, and one we'll never
forget!!!
